  • Names of Limits of International oceans and seas have been defined in 1953 by the International Hydrographic Bureau, referenced as S-23. This dataset names the areas of oceans and seas defined by the latest edition of the S-23. This edition takes into account Australia's preferred names and extents of southern ocean.

  • This data provides an illustrative representation of Australian Mainland and Islands (as polygons) at a 1:100K and 1:1M scale. The data was extracted from Geodata 100K Coastline data and 1:1M Global Map data. Supplemented with generalised data from the GA Australian Maritime Boundaries GIS data product, and in the case of Antarctic coastline generalised publicly available SCAR data.

  • The purpose of this dataset is to provide the AMSIS user with details of maritime names which are significant in giving context and visual reference to the other datasets in the application. This data is a subset of the Gazetteer of Australia 2005 release. Offshore features and some near coastal features that where originally sourced from the Maritime Gazetteer of Australia, of the Australian Hydrographic Service, where selected for display in AMSIS.

  • This data spatially relates licenced offshore mineral leases under the Offshore Minerals Act 1994. For more information relating to the dataset please refer to custodian or contact.
